VRC PRO 2016 SEASON 3 Electric buggy spec, round 2, Naxos
Swedish offroad talent Robert Hillman, has wonned second round of electric buggy spec race.
Race was held at Naxos track. Hillman was fastest at qualifying and also in Final. But he didnt get this easy, as Canadian driver Andrew Bucar was chasing him whole time at final.
Honestly, Bucar was also in fire, he got the lead at lap 4 when Hillman made mistake. From that lap Hillman didnt surrender, he was pushing really good laps and with consistent run he managed to beat this Canadian offroader.
With three mistakes, Hillman had his own pace. Well deserved win from Robert.
Bucar`s mistake at lap 6 made this also bit easier for Hillman, as it took almost 4 seconds extra to Bucar`s lap. But it was close, there was only two 10th`s difference per lap, between the... read more

Naxos held round 5 of the 2016 season 1 electric buggy race. 15 year old Uwe De Zwart from Austria and Dan Phillion from Canada were the top two qualifiers at a very demanding and unforgiving track. Qualifying third was none other than the Swedish sensation, Robert "I'm on top of the " Hillman. Dan and Robert are standing one and two respectively in the 2016 official season standing with Tommaso Andreuccetti, 33 from Italy, holding on to the 3rd position.
During the first few laps, the top few racers remained within striking distance with average lap times between 37-38 seconds. A mistake by Zwart at the finish line ending lap 4 made for a higher than average time on lap 5. While Zwart was being marshalled at the start of lap 5, Hillman caught Zwart and was leading heading down the straight away in front of the drivers stand. Oddly enough, Zwart and Hillman both hand their slowest lap on lap 5 and fastest lap on ... read more

2014 VRC WORLDS NITRO BUGGIES - PRESENTED BY TEAM ASSOCIATED
Marcin Maliński has won the VRC Worlds Open Class nitro buggy title. The 25 year old Polish Team Serpent racer was the big surprise in the A-Main final as he did not compete in 2014, had no ranking and set an incredible pace right from the start of the Worlds.
But his 3rd place in the 2013 VRC Worlds 1:8 nitro buggies should have been a warning to all! His pace was so fast that there was a lot of gossip about him cheating the system. Even his result in the 60 minute A-Main was disputed 5 times by other racers which lead to automatic disqualification. After investigation of these protests the race director reversed the disqualification which means that the young Pole has earned his first official VRC World title. Fresh HB team driver David Ronnefalk finished 2nd 13 seconds behind Malinski, and the other Swede and winner of the 2014 Season 3 series Tobias Isaksson came in 3rd another 10 seconds back, the top-3 scoring an incredible fas... read more

Surprise from 'down under': Chris Sturdy is the new VRC World Champion Open Class SC Trucks. Congratulations on a fantastic drive for this CLUB level racer, beating the very best PRO racers in this class! The 18 year old Aussie was a big unknown, finishing just 69th in the Season 3 Series, but at this Worlds he got his act together to finish 1 lap clear of Wollanka and Loriot who made up the podium.
The 2014 Worlds Open Class SC Truck Main final was a 15 minute long race, forcing a pit stop midway to change the battery pack. Sturdy was one of the first to go for a new pack, Wollanka, who had been tossing for the lead with Sturdy for most of the first haplf of this final, came in for a fresh LiPo pack 2 laps later, but saw his 3 seconds lead diminish to under a second. Sturdy charged hard, Wollanka answered in style but pushed it too hard, blowing his chance to fight for the World Championship until the last lap to pieces. Young Nicolas Loriot lost the race at the first few minutes of the main final, making... read more
