Welcome to the 2010 SPRING OPEN 1:8 at Messina. Let’s kick-off the racing season with exciting competition.

This is a level 4 race, with lots of points to be won for the 1:8 Scale and Combined World Ranking! The prestigious personalized VRC Award Certificates will be sent to the top-3 of the final. Make sure your address is complete if you finish in the top-3!

Registration is open now. Start practicing and post your timed practice results and start chasing top honours. Of course you are all invited to share your thoughts and exchange set-up tips in the Race Talk forum on this event page.

The Messina is made available for FREE just for the 2010 SPRING OPEN RACES for racers who want to give the VRC competition a try. So everyone can participate in this event. Let's beat the 1000 entries this time!

Simply start your VRC game and select the VRC updater from the main menu screen at the left bottom (VRC file check). This will download and install the Messina track on your pc and the unlocking will be done automatically.

Note: the Messina track can be continued to be used after the 2010 SPRING OPEN RACE but for off-line practice only.

PARISI WINS 2010 SPRING OPEN 1:8 FINAL

Antonello Parisi from Italy has won the 2010 Spring Open 1:8 scale final, Matt Kellet from Australia winner of the 1:10 scale Spring Open final claimed second place, and Christian Holmström from Sweden holds third place on the podium. Already around the 10th lap Parisi had created a 2 second gap between himself and the rest which he would steadily expand to almost 5 seconds around the 41st lap. After the 41st lap, the tables were turning! Kellett was strongly closing in on Parisi up till the very last lap! Meanwhile Brunke and Mingotti were struggling tightly over fourth and fifth position, and in the 60th lap also Mingotti mixed in this fierce battle. Eventually, Parisi was the first to cross the finish line after 85 brilliant laps, one second later Kellett followed, Holmström entered third, Brunke and Mingotti came in respectively fourth and fifth with only 0,4 second difference, Pignotti came in sixth followed by Pannwitz.
